Dear Mr Alder,
Further to my letter of 5 July and our complaint to the Ombudsman about the MCA's failure to disclose its thoughts about Direct To Consumer Advertising, I am enclosing a copy of our submission on DTCA to the European Commission.
Should you feel that this adds anything to the MCA's briefing on DTCA, I hope you will consider making copies of our submission available to members of the Medicine Commission.
I note from the press release accompanying the MCA Annual Report that it's been another record and wonderful year: new drug applications processed in a mean of just 34 days, an overall efficiency gain of over 3 per cent, and reduced investigation times for enforcement cases. These are incredible achievements to be sure.
