1. Further to my letter of 22 April, I am now able to reply to your letter of 20 March and regret this reply is somewhat later than I had previously anticipated.

2. A table listing all Agency-wide SOPs is attached. You may wish to note that, as part of our ongoing review, we have concluded that we will make available copies not only of those SOPs which concern our dealings with the public as required by the Code, but other Agency-wide SOPs as well. Our criteria for their release are:

• the SOP relates either to our interactions with external organisations, or information in the public domain, or provides information about how the MCA discharges its functions; and

• release would not risk or cause harm. In particular, we will not release details of SOPs which may concern the physical safety of the public, staff or building (Exemptions 4(e) and (f) of the Code of Practice on Access to Government Information), or whose disclosure would harm the effective management and operations of the Agency (Exemption 7) for the reasons given in the Code and the Guidance on Interpretation, copies of which you have previously been sent.

3. A copy of SOP G.3.97 about the MCA's complaints policy is attached together with PharrnSOP 2: General Principles Concerning the Provision of Information Relevant to ADRs. This has replaced CLUSOP No 20 Post-Marketing Drug Evaluation Unit, General Enquiries.
