J. Donoghue, P. Haddad: Pharmacists lack knowledge of antidepressant discontinuation symptoms [letter], J Clin Psychiatry 1999 Feb, 60:2, 124-5.

This letter reports that a significant proportion of UK pharmacists appear to be unaware of the existence/significance of antidepressant withdrawal symptoms. Authors used a questionnaire, similar to that used by Young and Currie (1997), and found that 55/147 (37%) of respondents "denied being confidently aware of antidepressant discontinuation symptoms. Furthermore, subsequent answers indicated that some of those who claimed to be 'confident' had overrated their knowledge".
