Dear Mr Medawar

I am writing to you thank you for your contribution to the Review of Access to the Yellow Card Scheme, which was very much appreciated. The Review provides an important opportunity to enhance the Yellow Card Scheme for the benefit of future patients; and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency was grateful for your comments.

As you are aware, the Report of the Review has now been published and given your valuable contribution, the MHRA was keen also to ensure you were aware that a further public consultation on the recommendations in the Report of the Review has started with one exception - patient reporting, which was accepted by the Agency immediately, with the Agency conducting various pilot schemes to ensure approach is adopted.

Consultation document MLX 308 and a question and answer document are on the MHRA’s website (www.mhra.gov.uk). All responses are welcome and should be addressed to Amanda Lawrence, Room 14-152, MHRA, Market Towers 1 Nine Elms Lane, Vauxhall, London, SW8 5NQ or by email to [email protected] by 28 July 2004.

If you should require further copies of the Report, it is published by TSO (The Stationery Office) and copies are available online at www.tso.co.uk/bookshop and through all good booksellers.

Once again, thank you for your contribution to the Review.

Yours sincerely

Amanda Lawrence
Policy Advisor & Reclassification Manager
