I am very conscious of the fact that I have not responded, definitively, to your letter of 26th August.

I know that Keith Jones has replied to your enquiry about the use of Ritalin (methylphenidate) and I have little more to add. The SPC provides appropriate advice about the indications, contraindications etc. for Ritalin when used to treat childhood behavioural disorders.

As far as withdrawal reactions to neuroleptics are concerned the staff of the Post Licensing Division are looking at the totality of the available evidence and we hope to respond shortly.
