Dear Mr Medawar,

Thank you for your request for information regarding MCA Standard Operating Procedures, received in my office on 20 March. I have referred it to Peter Dunlevy for reply who, as with your other recent requests, is dealing with it under to Code of Practice on Access to Government Information.

I am sorry you have not yet received a reply to your earlier letter of February 11 to Dr Jones and apologise for any inconvenience caused by your having to send a reminder. Dr Gordon Munro, head of the MCA's Inspection and Enforcement Division is currently conducting the review you requested. I am afraid that a combination of pressure of other work within MCA and the detailed points you have raised means that it may be a little while yet before we are able to reply in full.

I will let you know the outcome of Dr Munro's review as soon as possible.
