I have been on Effexor for about 4 mths for anxiety. Did little to help and i noticed i was getting quite depressed whcih hadnt happened to me before. If i missed taking a pill by even a few hours I would get tingling zaps down my arms, legs, face, chest and even my tongue. Is this what alot of you mean by brain zaps or am i on my own here. It has been over a week since i 'weaned' off and it hasnt improved. I havent been at work all week because if i even move my head i get tingling all down my body. Im scared that this wont go away. For those why have had withdrawel how long did it take for it to away. If i knew this was going to happen id rather the panick attacks... and if u have ever had an attack that will tell u how much i hate this. Im just so angry that the doctor never mentioned withdrawel when i took these. I was told they are not addictive... yeah right. This is the 3rd time ive tried to get off these whcih is great for the pharmaceutical company. I really think with this 'increase' in mental illness these companies really are our new tobacco giants. I just suppose when u feel so unwell you trust your doctor and really all they are are salesmen. Maybe im being cynical here but there is very little education out there abou the side effects and withdrawel of anti depressents. Ive been on quite a few and Effexor has had the least benefits and worst effects. I just wish these affects would go away. My doctor told me the effects are not dangerous and to just go to work but this is the first time ive even been able to sit up to type, it is very incapacitating and i really think they have no idea.

Can u please write and let me know how long your withdrawel lasted.
