I have come off cimpramil after 8mths and am having the same symptoms as with comming off zoloft a few yrs ago. Its not as bad as with the Zoloft so im not really complaining, yet, its been 3wks and the symptoms include extreme hot and cold flushes, vertigo or dizzness, flu like symtoms which could be unrelated and a quick tendency to get teary. Dose was originally 50mg and i didnt have many problems to start with other that a feeling of tiredness and yawning started soon after taking the medication and lasted till around 11.00am each morning. After doubleing the dose to 100mg i suffered from nightmares and vivid dreams for about 3 weeks, waking up and finding my hot sweats had soaked the sheets two or three times a night and hand then it finally settled. My mood and state of mind seemed more controlled and the anxiety and crying stopped. I suffered from extreme tiredness while on it though, so decided to try comming off them as i was feeling more stable and felt with the Doctors agreement that it was worth a try incase they were making me tired, it was my suggestion so who knows but im staying positive. I do feel that i benifited from them greatly but it is unfortunate that the side effects such as all of the above and loss of sex drive, increased weight etc are not taken very seriously by the medical world, both in the way antidepressants etc are administered and unadministered; and also in the patient care that involves healing not just hiding the causes of the illness in the first place. The cost of healing slowly or not at all and having to deal with these medications long term are draining and costly to those involved and more effort has to be put into cures not bandaid remidies.
