I have recently read an article by Dr David Healy, stating that, as a means of withdrawal from Cipramil, Paxil and other SSRIs, (including Prozac) that substitution liquid Prozac will work. Prozac has a much longer half life than the other SSRIs and, in liquid form, the dosage can be reduced more accurately, as well as which the frequency of needing to take it is lessened. Using this method, it seems, alleviates the dizzy withdrawal, common to all the SSRIs, and allows a gradual reduction in dose. I have no information to hand as to whether it's possible to go from one to the other without any waiting but that would need to be confirmed with a GP I guess. My own attempts so far have been only about 50% successful, which is why I'm considering looking into the liquid Prozac approach. I know it may not be for everyone and everyone seems to be slightly different but hey, if there's a way, I'm sure we'd all like to try it !!
