i was taking effexor for about a year- i was taking about 225mg then 150mg then my prescription ran out- that was a week of hell= i can truly appreciate what a heroin addict must go through. i was puking spontanously, could not walk straight, was shivering, had the room spinning on me, could not hold me. i finally went to a dr. for an emergency and told myself i would get off that stuff. its like the pharm company wants you addicted to that stuff. right now i'm gradually getting off that stuff its working so far= 3 weeks at 75mg, then 3 weeks at 75mg every other day, then 3 weeks at 75mg every 3rd day . don't go cold turkey
