I was taking effexor for only 2 months, I started on 75mg for a week & then moved up to 150mg. They were doing nothing (as with many other anti-depressants I have used in the past) and decided that I want to try medication free methods. I started to slowly cut down and stopped taking them 5 days ago. for the first three days I could feel the symptoms building and for the last 3 days the withdrawal symptoms have caused me & my family hell that you could not believe. My obsessive-compulsive disorder has returned worse than it ever was before I took any anti- depressants, I have become hyper-agitated & hyper-anxious & have uncontrollable anger bouts & mood swings from exhaustion to uncontrollable crying. Can anyone show some reassurance that these withdrawal symptoms will subside & that it is not how I will be forever unless I start taking medicenes again which I don't want to do !!
