I have just found out that there is a blood test available for establishibg the levels of Seratonin in the brain. No doctor that I have ever consulted has even hinted at this, let alone done a test. It strikes me that anyone encouraged to try taking any of these SSRIs should insist on establishing the level before they begin. The more I look into all of this, the more I find ! I wonder how many other people on this forum have actually *had* a blood test done ? The pity of it is that, even if levels are low, the withdrawl trauma when trying to stop can actually cause the levels to be affected again (lowering them) and hence a need to go back on them, thus perpetuating the cycle.
