Pam, I have been taking Cipralex for around 90 days now. For the first few weeks at least I had the same zombie like symptoms. (Some people pay good money to get like that!)All I did was sleep and the constant tiredness was worse than the depression. Then it stopped and then came the opposite - Sleepless nights. Anyway, now it has levelled out a bit and I can get to sleep and wake up when I want to as long as I take them daily and at around the same time.

Like you I stopped taking them for a few days which I found made me feel worse and then when I started again it was like starting back at the begining of the constant wanting to sleep.

Apparently Cipralex is a sort of new and improved, fast acting Citolopram. I used the Citolopram for years to good effect until they wore off but initially there were few if any side effects.

You either need to take them and stay the course until they settle down or see your gp. INSIST (politely) on a review of your condition and medication. You are perfectly entitled to this and unless the doctor either takes the time to, or you make them see what your needs are, then this will be another worry you could do without.

If that fails, ask to see another doctor or change your surgery.

Remember, Its your wellbeing and you have to help them to help you.

Good luck Pam ;-)

Scott

P.s. They make you talkative too! Lol
