I have tried many SSRIs over the last 5 years with little to no positive effect. Effexor has been a better experience - I have lost 6 pounds (maybe from NO alcohol?), BUT I forgot to take one yesterday and this morning began experiencing the "brain shivers". It's like a cross between tinnitis (ringing in my ears) and electrical surges, which are very distracting. I wonder at times if all this now geriatric (I'm 54) "drug experimentation" doesn't date back to my college days in the 70's when I tried a little of everything! Anyway, because of that earlier experimentation and a mention of that possible type of side-effect from my Internist, I am not as frightened by the "shivers" as I might have otherwise been. This site has also helped alot!
