Hi Jane

I know what you mean about panic. I was taking cipramal for a while and they really cured my panic attacks. The problem I've had for years is answering the phone and talking in front of a crowd of people and if I bumpted into someone in the street I would go into a state of shop: hot sweat, shaking, stammer and feel dizzy/sick. The more I thought about a situation the worse it became and like you my career involves the phone and talking to people. For years I have avoided the phone and just hoped that people didn't notice. When I started taking ciprmal after a month I could answer the phone and make a phone call with no panic - utterly cool, calm and collective, if not a bit cockey (which has made me so happy). I have stopped taking cipramal and I am started to feel a bit panicky of the phone again. I hope it's only short term, but I definitely think it is all in the mind and I am determined to sort out the problem and not let it win me. Even though I may stutter, shake and sweat et. I will continue to make phone calls and answer the phone because if I don't I will go back to the way I used to be and I don't want that.

I hope my advice helps you Jane ( and someone on the site mentioned to buy Claire Weeks books. I know I certainly will.)

Good bye and good luck

Sue
