Has anyone ever successfully managed to "get over" panic attack? I fear that this is going to be with me my whole life. It seems that it is not so much a problem with my social life (although occasionally it is), it has more to do with the scary (LOL) supermarkets, queues, crowds, and speaking one on one with someone "important". I don't know about you guys but I cannot possibly forsee how I can deal with this while maintaining my career. What do other people do for a living? I am an academic and I need to attend meetings, seminars etc as well has speaking at meetings and seminars. It feels like I am the only person on in the world with this problem sometimes (although I know that isn't true). Sometimes I feel like a real loser and I wish that I could have my old social life back. I used to be really talkative and everything but now all I can think of is NOT panicking!!!! The drugs help a bit, but still sometimes it seems impossible to keep this up for an entire lifetime!
