I had absolutely horrendous withdrawal from cipramil, total cold turkey - but I have just stuck it out - as I found the side effects even worse.

I have not felt like a human being, had night zaps - also night frights, nightmares etc.

Feelings of constant dread - no human emotions, totally disconnected from my body - terrible dizziness, fatigue - plus much much more.

However at around 4/5 months it eased a little, and from then to now (7 and a half months) I have gradually had more and more good days - ie feeling human (a bit), being able to feel connected to my body. I still get the odd dizzy day, but generally am on an upwards recovery and can function normally now. Although the most lingering thing is a weird feeling around my ears, particularly the left one.

If you want to stop taking it enough, you have to just weather the storm - you will survive - it may take months to get it out of your system - for the brain damage to heal (I dont think thats too extreme a view).

You can try supplementing with choline, b12, b vitimins, fish oils, st johns wort - anything that helps the brain and nervous system. But I havent really found anything that helps - except self-reliance, this website, yoga and meditation.

I wish you the best of luck, but dont expect quick results - although as you say, some people are just fine and most people actually only get bad effects for a couple of weeks.

You can email me direct if you like [email protected] as I dont check into this site as much as I did, if you want any more info.
