Hi Everyone: I have from time to time left messages on this site regarding my experience with Celexa. I have been on 20 mg a day for around 3 years. I can’t count the number of times I have tried to stop. I have tried every possible way of stopping, including cold turkey & weaning down. For me, nothing seems to work. I always wind up getting the same symptoms as everybody else. The electric shocks & brain waves and seizure type fits in my sleep. I have gone to several doctors regarding the problem and none of them have a definitive solution. Some of the doctor’s looks at me like I’m crazy and others have tried to play around with different medications. I’m really tired of being a Ginny pig. Most people complain about weight gain, but I have lost over 40 lbs in the 3 years. I’m at the point where I have zero energy and can’t even work. I haven’t worked in over a year and I feel that this medication has caused me to become disabled. I’m trying again for the umpteenth time to quit. It has only been 3 days and I have only cut down from 20 mg to 10mg and already I’m having trouble with the seizure type problems when sleeping. I have been taking Klonopin at night and it helps a little with the seizure activity. If it weren’t for the lack of energy and focus when on Celexa, I would continue to take it for the rest of my life. I just can’t go through life feeling like a zombie anymore. It definitely affects different people in different ways. I have a friend who quit cold turkey with no problem and I see some people have left post here that they have also done so. For me, it’s impossible. I just wish, there was a way I could stop taking Celexa and get back to my old self. I’m always open to suggestions; so if anybody knows of a way, PLEASE let me know. I wish everybody the best of health and God bless.

Thanks, Steve K
