I too am glad that I found this site. This is the third time that I have tried to go off of this medication. I have not contacted my doctor to let her know because I felt like with this being the third time that I could follow my doctors previous instructions on withdrawing. I started withdrawing from this medication (75mg) June 1st, and I have gone from every other day now to every third day starting today. My symptoms are like some of yours with the stomach problems, which I attributed to indigestion, change in bowel habits and the haywire feeling in your head. After reading some of your comments, I think that I am going to make an appointment with my doctor to see if I can take something to help with the withdrawal symptoms. I discussed this with a pharmacist, and she just gave me a blank look when I told her the hell that I have gone through withdrawing from this medication. She informed me that everyone reacts differently, which is true. I also told the pharmacist that I could see how someone would commit suicide trying to withdrawal from this medication, it is that bad. BUT patients should still be informed what we MAY go through trying to withdraw from Effexor XR. The crying and feeling of lack of control of my emotions some days is more then I can handle, but knowing that I am not the only one going through this hell helps.
